     John Jeremiah Sullivan, essayist and Souther editor for The Paris Review, just received a 2014 James Beard Foundation Award for a tremendous essay on canning and preservation, which appeared in Lucky Peach, a quarterly journal of food and writing. Mentioned are boysenberry jam, a staple in Scott's family and available from Dixie's Columbiana line of canned goods, as well as quince, one of Dixie's favorite fruits, available from WSG canned in a variety of forms and fresh in the fall.
